Decontamination is a key decommissioning activity with high potential. Nowadays, methods of decontamination are becoming more and more
efficient in lowering risk, improving radioprotection and maximising waste segregation. Often, in nuclear power plants, reprocessing
facilities and waste repositories, decontamination can take different forms. There is no single technique to address all kinds of problems and the selection of technologies highly depends on the type of facilities, the type of isotopes and level of activity of the parts contaminated.
