Is this your challenge ?

Who hasn’t heard about LiDAR and 3D data?

Nowadays, LiDAR is pretty common, both in industrial sites and residentials. With the rise of a dozen of LiDAR’s manufacturer, the price of this technology has drastically decreased, making it available for the masses, from being included in your robot cleaner at home, all the way to mapping restricted nuclear facilities with an inspection autonomous such as ANYbotics’ ANYmal – quadrupedal robot.

With 3D data coming from a LiDAR, the range of possibility is almost endless: object localisation, velocity estimation, mapping, odometry, system detection, behaviour analysis, etc. But have you ever wondered how easy it is to process 3D data? Did you know that LiDAR on-board capabilities to integrate data is quite limited? Have you thought about those poor lads integrating multiple technological bricks to try to get there and fast-track the data crunching?

We can tell you it is not as straightforward as it seems and it will become even more difficult as LiDAR performance is expected to improve by tens of millions of points per second (pps) in the near future. Furthermore, with the wide number of LiDAR manufacturers and the lack of standards, integrating LiDARs and their output can be very tedious.

A solution, as simple as a plug-and-play box, acting as a LiDAR pre-processor to process the flow of 3D data in real-time would be game changing. Even better if it could offer augmented tools to seamlessly. Imagine how much time this will save and how more effective inspection would be. Well, guess what? At inTechBrew, we got you covered.
